I’m half way through my internal medicine rotation! It is a completely different environment than my other rotations and I’ve learned so much about a variety of disease states. This is my first rotation with medical students, first year medical residents, and a team room
P4s all over the country recently started their first block of APPE rotations. Before starting rotations, I asked advice from several recent graduates on which resources are most useful on rotations
I just started my very first clinical rotation as a fourth year pharmacy student and so I am mentally reviewing the numerous great hints and tips for making the most out of APPE rotations that others have given me the last few years

It’s a great feeling to finally be at the end of APPE rotations with graduation in sight. As I enter my final week of rotations I can’t help but look back and compare this rotation to my first rotation
One thing nice about the cold weather, it’s given me plenty of time to look back at my rotation experiences. I think my biggest question going into rotations was, “Will I be able to get the experiences that I’m looking for?”
August was my internal (general) medicine rotation in a hospital setting, and I was prepared to be miserable...But as the month progressed, I started realizing that I was really enjoying the rotation and the variety that went along with it
At the end of every rotation I have the same mixed emotions. I’m excited to start my next rotation and learn something new from someone new

Some are still stubbornly stuck to their branches, while many are in large, endless piles of fun created by my children (who are finally big enough to rake by themselves!). My current APPE rotation – an ambulatory oncology clinic – fits perfectly into this transitional season, where it seems like my heart is warmed and broken every day, and the medicine ranges from the amazingly advanced to the alarmingly primitive. Similar to all my other rotations, I have learned an incredible amount about the practice of pharmacy; there is endless information for me to absorb about oncologic pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, drug interactions, clinical trials and – of course – the ubiquitous side effects of chemotherapy. Unique to this rotation, however, is the education provided by the patients and their caregivers, namely, what it is like to manage life and battle a disease
I am a pharmacy student from the University of Colorado on rotation at ASHP headquarters from September 25 th to November 4 th
